RAVEN Privacy Policy
RAVEN does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. The app has no internet access, no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no crash reporting. Everything you capture stays on your device unless you choose to share it.
Who we are
RAVEN is developed by Jaimin Viramgama. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at jaiminv153@gmail.com.
What the app accesses, and why
RAVEN asks only for the Android permissions it needs to work as a camera. None of them are used to send data anywhere; the app does not request the internet permission at all.
| Permission | Used for |
|---|---|
| Camera | Capturing RAW photos and video frames, and showing the live preview. |
| Microphone | Recording audio into the preview video, only while you are recording and only when audio recording is turned on in settings. You can decline this permission; the app still works and records silently. |
| Notifications | Showing the progress and result of a video export. |
| Storage (Android 12 and older only) | Reading the photos and videos RAVEN saved to your gallery so it can list them in the app. |
| Keep device awake | Preventing the processor from sleeping during a recording or export. |
RAVEN does not access your location, contacts, accounts, other apps' photos or videos, or any device identifier.
Where your photos and videos are stored
All processing happens on your device.
-
Working recordings (RAW frames, their metadata and
preview videos) are kept in the app's own folder,
Android/media/com.twopixellabs.raven. Android deletes this folder when you uninstall the app. -
Photos and exported videos you save are written to
your gallery, in
DCIM/RAVEN. They stay there after uninstalling, like any other photo, and you manage them with your gallery app.
Information stored inside your files
Captured files contain technical camera information needed to process RAW images, such as exposure time, ISO, white balance, lens and sensor characteristics, and the device make and model. RAVEN does not add location to any file. This information stays in the file and is only seen by others if you share the file yourself.
Sharing
RAVEN never shares your data with us or with anyone else. A file only leaves your device if you choose to open it in, or share it to, another app — for example a video player or a messaging app. What happens next is governed by that app's privacy policy.
Third-party services
None. RAVEN contains no advertising, analytics, tracking or crash-reporting services.
Deleting your data
Delete recordings from the Recordings screen in the app, delete saved photos and videos from your gallery, or uninstall the app to remove everything in its own folder. Because we never receive your data, there is nothing held by us to delete.
Children
RAVEN is not directed at children under 13, and it collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date. If the app ever starts collecting or transmitting data, this policy will be updated before that version is released.
